I'm telling you this so you know that when I talk about executive coaching, leadership development, career change, team building, strategic planning and workshop facilitation, it's based on years of experience both in the trenches myself and professionally coaching hundreds of clients, teams and organisations to achieve their desired outcomes.

I Believe...

People are way more capable than they give themselves credit for!

We all have so much potential and if we get to the end of our lives without using every single bit of it, being the best we can be, that's a massive waste of positive change the world has missed out on.

It's also a lifetime of deep regret - for all the things we didn't do, but wish we had.

After years of jumping from job to job, trying to figure out the difference I'm here to make, it gradually became blindingly obvious. If I could help just one person break free from the chains that keep them stuck, my life will have been worthwhile.

Fast forward 15 years and I am incredibly fortunate and excited to have the opportunity to help my clients turn their possibilities into reality, every day!

What Possibility to Reality is All About

I started Possibility to Reality (or P2R as we like to call it) in 2005 to help aspiring leaders, teams and organisations take what's possible and make it real. We hear so much about 'failed change' and too many change initiatives unwittingly make this a self-fulfilling prophecy.

No one starts out with the intent to fail and most of us know what we need to do. Yet, for whatever reason, we just don't do it or 'doing it' becomes too hard. I help you smash that myth and close the 'knowing/doing' gap through:

"Why should I work with you?" I hear you ask...

Possibility to Reality is Different!

What sets us apart:

  • It is ALL about YOU! My only interest and measure of success is your achievement - no imposed or rigid approach; hidden agendas or 'coachy' jargon.
  • My #1 priority is to build a safe, deeply trusting space to help you explore what you need and do what you choose - YOU are the expert on you. My job is to listen very carefully and shine a light on whatever it is that is blocking your path to success..
  • We keep it simple. You are busy and many of the challenges you face are complex, so we cut to the chase, get to the crux and discover the simplest yet most powerful and effective solutions. We break ambitions and aspirations down into bite sized steps so you harness the power of change at a pace that works for you.
  • We don't set goals! While this sounds radical, experience shows that the issue you present with is rarely the real issue! Setting hard goals up front is like leaning a ladder up against the wrong wall or going down a dead end rabbit hole. Besides, no sooner than a goal is set, the environment and your circumstances will change and setting rigid goals often sets you up for failure and disappointment.
  • Rather, you have a clear aspiration and we explore what matters most to you, to enable you to achieve real and positive results in real time.
  • I do have expectations of you.  To set you up for success, we create an agreement whereby you and I will both commit 100% to the work. You don't need to know how to create your desired change. However, you must have a strong desire, open mind and curiosity to explore...
  • I willingly share every relevant thing I know and expect you to 'pay it forward'. With my clients, I've developed over 350 simple coaching tools to solve common leadership, team and career challenges. You are encouraged to use and apply whatever you learn to help others break through their barriers to success. By sharing with others, we create a ripple affect that significantly increases the value and impact of our work.
  • Every client is unique. Here are some of my client's experiences (in their own words), to give you a sense of what it's like to work with me.

Challenged me in career planning and leadership, helping me become more consciously aware of my strengths and leadership skills

Caroline has been a wonderful coach/mentor to me over the last 6 months. She has vast knowledge and experience along with an excellent array of tools. Using this knowledge and experience Caroline was able to challenge and push me in the areas of career planning and leadership along with helping me to become more consciously aware of my strengths and leadership skills. I certainly gained a lot in a short period and have no hesitation in recommending Caroline.

Ensured that the planning day achieved real outcomes and a pathway for success

AMS engaged Caroline as a facilitator for a strategic planning day. Our current strategic plan was outdated and unused and we wanted something fresh and motivating. Caroline gave us a structure and template for the day which helped us to synthesise and document ideas for real change. Caroline also provided us with tools and follow up to ensure that the planning day achieved real outcomes and a pathway for success. Caroline's warm and engaging manner also helped to make the process effortless. I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline for facilitating strategic planning and happy to answer any queries you may have.

Ability to understand our desired outcomes and then create a program which had a clear journey for the team to achieve the set objectives was superior to other facilitators I have worked with

We recently engaged Caroline on very short notice (less than 2 weeks) to facilitate a coming together of a new Top 25 leadership team as a result of the merger of an external acquisition with an existing internal operating business.

Caroline took our brief and desired outcomes and crafted a thoroughly engaging and rewarding 2 day workshop which was about aligning culture and creating a consistent vision and set of tangible business objectives for a large business unit (greater than 500 people). All the requirements of our brief were achieved without question.

A post workshop survey conducted with the team gave Caroline a 100% score for exceeding expectations as the facilitator.

I found her ability to understand our desired outcomes and then create a program which had a clear journey for the team to achieve the set objectives was superior to other facilitators I have worked with in the past. I would thoroughly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a facilitator who can ensure your objectives are met and exceeded, who is consistently engaging and who can work the group and their individual characteristics for maximum team and business outcomes.

I don’t think there was anyone in the room who remained untouched and unchanged by that experience.

I was interested to meet Caroline Cameron at a group retreat and watch her in action as she made a life-coaching presentation to us. I was extremely impressed with how she made the session so productive for everyone present, and how she put into practice the fundamentals of her craft so clearly, concisely and meaningfully. I don’t think there was anyone in the room who remained untouched and unchanged by that experience. She made everyone think about their lives, their reality and their goals, and helped us all realise how simply we could put changes incrementally in place to effect a transition from what is, to what we’d like to be. The process proved pretty inspiring for all of us there, and we all agreed that it had been an amazing experience to be a part of. I’ve had sessions since with other life coaches and often been terribly disappointed. They can become so caught up in their own experiences, jargon, sources and meaningless acronyms that the time spent with them feels utterly wasted. With Caroline, on the other hand, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any life, lifestyle, career or executive coaching role. I feel very fortunate to have had the benefit of her time, experience, empathy and wisdom.

Caroline helped me identify my 'blind spots' and better understand my impact on others

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Caroline for the past eighteen months as my executive coach. Caroline is a brilliant coach who enabled me to become a far more effective leader in my organisation. Caroline consistently challenged and extended my thinking, provided me with a range of strategies to overcome challenges and barriers and enhanced my strengths by learning to consciously apply them at different times. Most importantly Caroline helped me identify my 'blind spots' and better understand my impact on others. As a result of the coaching I now have more job satisfaction, increased self-confidence and improved relationships with my staff. This has all led to increased performance and results by individuals and teams.

Our people were empowered and the capacity of the organization strengthened.

As Chief Executive Officer of a large welfare organization I invited Caroline Cameron and P2R to assist the organization on numerous occasions. In every case, whether it was working with staff to vision new service delivery models, or prepare competitive tenders Caroline helped the organization achieve its vision. Caroline worked with staff every step of the way, new models of care were developed and implemented. Strategic goals and a process for measuring outcomes and results were set. As a result of Caroline’s work our people were empowered and the capacity of the organization strengthened. Caroline kept people on track and ensured that they had the skills, knowledge and resources to achieve success.

A game changer, lifesaver and the biggest hero and supporter you never knew you had

Caroline is an incredibly impressive executive coach and a master of change. I've been most fortunate to work with a variety of executive coaches and leadership consultants, but Caroline is by far the most exceptional coach I've come across. She has great energy, a real calmness that diffuses anyone's inner anxiety, and her tools and tips are second to none. I have engaged Caroline as a coach in two different roles, and there is no doubt I wouldn't be where I am today without Caroline. She is a game changer, lifesaver and the biggest hero and supporter you never knew you had. I hope to work with her again in future!

My Back Story

Caroline Cameron Executive Coach, Career Coach, Workshop Facilitator, Keynote Speaker Melbourne

At 17, Imposter Syndrome Kicks In...

My first real experience of leadership happened when I was asked to be School Captain in Year 12. This coveted role was given to someone selected by students and teachers and I didn't for one minute think it would be me! One of my friends had publicly campaigned for the job and desperately wanted it. And, we all knew she'd get it.

When the headmaster called me into his office and asked me to do the job, my first reaction was total surprise - 'Who... ME?' I asked incredulously. My next reaction was what I now recognise as heart-pounding fear. What if I can't do it? What if they find out I'm not up to the job? My friend (who wanted the job) will never talk to me again. I really don't know how to do this!

As I stood up in front of the school at assembly for the first time I was paralyzed with terror! With all eyes on me, face flushing and hands trembling, my job was to ask everyone to be quiet so assembly could begin. Aaaargh! i was stunned when the school hall did fall silent and quickly.

Little by little my confidence grew and by the end of the year I'd stopped worrying, just a little bit! After all, what was the worst that could happen?

A Profound Early Leadership Lesson...

After graduation, I gained a job as a Play Therapist at the world famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London, where they treat the sickest children from across the UK and Europe. At the ripe old age of 23, I was responsible for helping children overcome their fear of hospital, illness and excruciating treatment through play.

One of my greatest teachers was Robin, a previously health 7 year old who had contracted a rare disease from a mosquito bite whilst living with his family in Egypt.

Emergency air lifted to the hospital, his whole body was covered in horrendous infectious ulcers and besides being wracked with unbearable pain, the disease had ulcerated his eyelids, leaving him totally blind. Terrified and confused, he would scream whenever anyone came into his room and helping him was a daunting prospect when I had so little experience.

For hours and weeks on end, I'd sit at the door to his room reading him stories, reassuring him that I wouldn't enter his room until he gave me permission. One day, in the middle of a story, he interrupted me and said, 'Caroline, I would like to do some painting!'

Robin painting 'Green Monsters' marked the beginning of his recovery as he took control of what was within his control

An Unconventional Career Path...

With no idea what I really wanted to do, I found myself opportunistically and randomly changing careers and jobs! I moved from country NSW to Melbourne to support my then husband through his mid-life career change, whilst he studied to become a vet. With a beautiful 14 month old daughter, my #1 priority was to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads.

While the next 15 years looked like this:

They actually felt more like this!

My Crazy Career Path

My Crazy Career Path

At 37 I decided to become a management consultant to broaden my experience.

Truth be told, when people asked me why I changed careers so many times, my response of 'I just haven't figured out yet what I want to be when I grow up,' was starting to sound lame, even to me!

Dawning Realisations and Light Bulbs...

I was consulting for a boutique IT management consultancy and, as I don't have a technical bone in my body, I figured I could help with the 'people stuff'.

This was long before Change Management became a thing and initially it involved writing newsletters for IT system implementation projects so they could tick the Communications box on the project plan.

Working for insurance companies, banks, utilities, telcos and non-government agencies, I started to notice how much people really struggled with change.  No matter the project or the client, this was a common theme and I started to wonder why.

It was as if someone, somewhere had said, 'Change is HARD!' , and everyone wholeheartedly and unquestioningly accepted this as true.

To be fair, I was grappling with change in my life too as a newly single mum, working 60+ hour weeks and struggling to keep my head above water.

Life Changing Defining Moments...

Over the next few years I progressed to writing Change Management Strategies for organisations confronting the realities of acquisitions, mergers, divestments, restructures and the introduction of web enabled technologies. I became increasingly aware that how we do business isn’t the easiest or best way to make change happen.

Defining Moment #1:

One day (to prove my theory), I inserted a short passage from Alice In Wonderland into the middle of a Change Management Strategy I’d been slaving over for a large corporate client.

I sent the document to the Executive team to review and scheduled a meeting to have it approved. The 8 very senior and busy executives were jovial as the meeting started. Signing off the strategy was a major milestone completed and simply another tick in the box on the project plan.

As unanimous approval was received and they prepared to move on to the next agenda item, I drew their attention to the rogue passage and curiously asked how Lewis Carroll’s inadvertent contribution had helped inform their decision making. Sheepishly, they all admitted they’d only read the Executive Summary!

Don’t get me wrong, written communication is very important, but lengthy documents and copious emails don’t make change happen…. So what does? Then it occurred to me -

It's not big fat strategy documents that make change happen - it's what people THINK, BELIEVE, FEEL, CHOOSE, SAY and DO.

This defining moment sparked my determination to discover how to make change easier and more successful.

It was around then that my life had to change too. Facing a painful divorce, my resistance strategy was ‘gritty determination’. As a single mum with a mortgage and no child support, I struggled and it was hard, but couldn’t see any other way to survive.

Working long hours in the corporate world was curiously comforting because I was surrounded by people also struggling with change.

No one seemed to have the answer and we were a united, 'in the trenches' resistance movement. Like a duck - seemingly in control as I glided across the water - my feet paddled furiously below the surface as I tried to stay afloat!

Defining Moment #2:

Driving home one cold, dark winter's night in torrential rain, rushing to get my daughter to ballet on Melbourne's clagged Monash Freeway, a large semi jack-knifed in front of me.

I swerved off the road and stopped...

Badly shaken, heart pounding, windscreen wipers thrashing, hazard lights on, I rested head on steering wheel.

Visions of a horrific car accident I'd been in when I was 6 came flooding back and I suddenly realised – resistance to change is futile.

If my life was going to change, I was the only one who could change it.

That near miss, started me on a journey to discover how to take the struggle out of change.  I knew I had to change what I thought, believed, said, chose and did.

I enrolled in a year’s intensive professional coach training, lost 25 kg, reclaimed my life & discovered surprisingly simple ways to harness the power of change.

My Big Leap...

Throughout my coaching training, I learnt how to reframe the stories I'd been telling myself and my life so far started to make a lot more sense.

Working through frontline to executive level roles wasn't a random quest to figure out what I wanted to do. Rather, the accumulated experience helped me truly understand and deeply empathise with the challenges my clients face.

The relief I felt at being able to change my circumstances and take control of my life was immense. For the first time ever, it started to feel as though anything was possible.

I hadn't gone into coaching to start a business (losing the regular paycheck was still way too scary!). But the more I learnt, the more I changed and I knew I had found my purpose - the unique difference that I had been put on this earth to make.

If exploring, understanding and reconfiguring my old stories was helping me, surely it could help others too.

Over the next two years I moonlighted - working by day as a consultant whilst pursuing my coaching side hustle - helping people to harness the power of change. The results were remarkable. Change challenges they'd struggled with for years were overcome in a heartbeat!

In the evenings and weekends I practiced my coaching until I knew I was ready to back myself and take the leap. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I resigned, stepped off the corporate treadmill and set up Possibility to Reality in 2005.

My aim was and always will be to move ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things. I’ve been honored to help hundreds of professional people, teams and businesses test the limits, break the shackles and blow open the opportunities to create the future they want and their results inspire me.

My ‘make change easy’ journey has taken me all round Australia and the world. Coaching senior executives in Melbourne, passionate young entrepreneurs in Johannesburg, journalists in the Daintree Rainforest, local government leaders in Western Australia, clients from Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand and working with coaches from the UK, America and Dubai – they all share one thing…

They all have a strong desire to make their difference count and awareness that only they can make it happen.

Where it All Comes Together...

Whether it's coaching, speaking or facilitating, every day I learn new things, often thinking, "I wish I'd known THAT back when I was struggling!"

Coming alongside my clients to help them achieve things they never previously thought possible, is thrilling and such a privilege. Together, we expand your awareness, build your strengths and develop clear, calm, confidence to achieve your personal and professional aspirations.

The greatest highlights come from watching my clients pass on what they've gained through coaching - empowering themselves and their people to embrace change, rather than resist it.

I call this 'paying it forward' and it creates a ripple effect as more and more people break free from the change struggle to become the best they can be, doing what they do, making their unique difference and... loving life in a whole new way.

So... now it's over to YOU!
